Dr. Ted Harrison, D.C., F.A.C.O.

While playing football at the University of Minnesota, Ted Harrison sustained a neck injury that stayed with him for almost a year. At the time, he was a biology major with the intention of going pre-med. However, after meeting a newly licensed chiropractor who performed an adjustment on Ted that allowed him to turn his head for the first time in many months, he made a decision to pursue Chiropractic -- a practice that he has been committed to with unrelenting dedication and continuous education since 1992.

He attended school during the day and ran a small gym until midnight. Once licensed, he opened his chiropractic clinic in an adjacent office to the gym and was the first to incorporate chiropractic with stretching and strengthening in a gym setting, a concept that others thought was crazy. The Gym is still an integral part of his North Suburban Healthcare. Dr. Harrison is committed to educating himself and strives to learn as much as he can in order to treat patients with the best care. His philosophy is, "Do everything I can for the patient - focus on the patient." He is currently one of only a few doctors in the country who is a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist who has also received the Certification of Completion from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego (SRISD) in automobile crash and reconstruction with forensics and risk analysis.

Dr. Harrison enjoys volunteering with local  High school football teams and players, and the Special Olympics. 
Dr. Harrison's free time is spent with his Wife and 3 children and also enjoys golfing and studying World War 2 history

Dr. Richard Tollefson, D.C.

Dr. Tollefson was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Bemidji State University and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 1987.  Dr. Tollefson has taken and continues to take continuing education classes in rehabilitation exercise, orthopedics, Kinesio taping and other areas to continue to provide the best possible care to his patients.  Recently received certificates in Kinesio taping and Rehabilitation

In 2008 Dr. Tollefson teamed up with Dr. Harrison after founding North Suburban Chiropractic and running it for 20 years, and together they Created North Suburban Healthcare. Their joint efforts in providing the best possible treatment plans for their patients, and their belief that there are better options for people living through injuries is the corner stone of North Suburban healthcare. Dr. Tollefson has recently been reappointed to his second term as a Member of The Minnesota  Board of Chiropractic by  Governor Pawlenty. He previously served as a state licensing examiner for the Board of Chiropractic Examiners and has been an examiner on the National Board of examiners.

In his spare time, Dr. Tollefson enjoys traveling, golf, and continuing education.  He has 2 children and enjoys spending time with them.

Dr. Kevin Spahr, D.P.T.

Dr. Spahr is originally from Winona, MN and is the newest member to North Suburban Healthcare.  He completed his undergraduate studies at St. Mary s University in Winona and moved up to the Twin Cities area in 2005 after graduation to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis, MN.

He takes an active role in staying up-to-date on the latest physical therapy research to provide each of his patients with the best possible care. He values the multidisciplinary approach an individual can obtain at North Suburban Healthcare. Dr. Spahr specializes in a wide variety of conditions including post-surgical, work injuries, sports injuries, and motor vehicle accidents.  He has experience in treating all regions of the body including the spine, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle.  He has gained extensive knowledge in the area athletic medicine through treatment of University of Minnesota athletes and local area high school athletes. Outside the clinic, Dr. Spahr enjoys spending time with family, friends, exercising and the outdoors.
